Thought it'd be better to start a new thread for the possible 2007 Kicking Horse trip. What do you guys think? I hear they are getting hammered with snow so far this year.
I'm totally down... but the earliest I could get out there would be the 27th. Where do you think we would want to stay? In town (more bars) or on mountain (less driving)?

We had discussions, ultimately it did come down to mountain or town for those various reasons. I think a hot tub could trump all though, hah.

I have sent a few emails back and forth with them. There is nothing on mountain available really. I will look further into in Town stuff today.

Ok I am thinking just a hotel or the hostle if they let us back If I get a list of who is in I will reserve it I don't want to not be able to get a place last minute so unless someone has a problem with Golden give me a list of who is in does anybody remember the name of the hostle???? or do we just want hotel? or our are pictures up on the denied list behind the desk

I am down for going! I have to work on the 26th and 27th but would be good for the 28th, 29th, or 30th. I have to be back in Calgary for the 31st though.

I don't think I can go... I'm not sure about what's going on after Christmas, so i'm playing it by ear here.

The place we were at before was called "Kicking Horse River Lodge" by the way.

Idea: Whitefish, lift tickets are only $56USD, and there are night packages to be from 120/night, accomidations incl with lift ticket.
As I know Andrew and Bob will vouch that the place was empty, no lines, amazing snow, and pow, plus they got 3 inches last night.
I was going to look into booking Thurs Dec.27th, Friday Dec. 28th, and we could stay the Saturday until checkout, or even ski if we feel so energetic.
I know we can't accomodate all, sorry.
Prospects to attend: Steve, Robin, Bob, Jami, Drew, Cassie, Tim (Bob - do you think he'd be up for it?)
Shad's working until 6am the 28th, Mike - you painting? Melissa interested?, Colezy - you working? Tom?
thoughts?, i will see about booking from work tomorrow.

Golden is booked, we have a house in town the nights of the 26th, the 27th, and we ski the 27th and the 28th. hot tub, 3 king size beds.

Here are the deats!
We have the Mount 7 Guest House - in the town of Golden, 15 minutes from the hill (the owners, sometimes there are in a completely seperated basement, we will never see them they said. The max occupancy is 6, so we may have to be a bit sneaky.
Confirmed we have Steve, Robin, Bob, Jami, Melissa, Cole
extras: Drew, Cassie, Mike
Mount7 Guesthouse
Spend your vacation at this beautiful guesthouse located in a secluded neighborhood at the base of Mount 7. There are 3 bedrooms with luxurious king size beds that can also be split into 2 twin beds. There is a full kitchen, a large open dining and living space with a cozy wood burning stove. There are 2 decadent full bathrooms with heated tile floors one of which has a double headed shower. Relax at the end of the day with a soak in the private 8 person hot tub, under the stars and the towering pine trees. Centrally located in town close to all restaurants, pubs and shops. Located 15 minutes from Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.
We have the place after 4pm Wednesday the 26th, and for the 27th and until 11am Friday the 28th. It is only $371.01/night, and $60/day for lift tix. I looked at whitefish, it was gonna be $625/night.
We ride the 27th and the 28th!!!!

I am relatively certain that we are not able to make it either (we being Cass and I). And by "relatively" I mean pretty well definitely not. So maybe Melissa can have a new date and Mike and I will cuddle in Calgary.

Rides - should we try and get that figured as well, as we have the 3 most havoc days ahead of us, Christmas Eve, Christmas and Boxing Day.
We may be taking Robin's family Jetta so myself, Robin, and Cole may work well. Cole, we may have an opp to do some Fernie skiing on the weekend too - we will see if you are game.
As for Melissa's convoy, Melissa, Mike, Bob, Jami, Foisy ? thoughts?

I'm good for 1. I am packing tonight, and doing a wee bit of shopping tomorrow since I happened to receive some money today. We don't get the place til 4, so there's no point of being too early.

Oh and 26cm of snow in the last 2 days. Fair driving conditions, shoulders are Snow/Ice, last reported Dec. 25th 7:22am.
