Title: Anaheim sucks
Post by: Ryan on April 21, 2006, 09:32:42 PM
After the ticket frenzy today for the Flames game, I thought I would see what it is like in the sunnier south.  Apparently nobody cares, I can buy 8 tickets, and only cause they limit you to 8 per household, or I bet I could have got like 50.  Losers...

You should buy them and try and sell them to Flames fans that are dumb... HA

Frig... they're cheap too!  For that price we could fly down with Westjet, go to the game, get in some fights, and fly back home for just a little more than what a Saddledome ticket would cost.

Hell I'd get so much utility from beating up Anahiem fans that I would actually make a profit on the trip.

Lol, I can't believe you used utility in an everyday context. I'm so impressed.

Ha ha ha... yay economics!  It's funny because I find phrases like marginal utility, deadweight loss, and pareto optimal finding their way into my everyday vocabulary.  Scary!

I assume that pareto optimal has something to do with the pareto distribution?  Perhaps pertaining to losses or something like that?

No, pareto optimal is an equilibrium condition in game theory where no single agent can be made better off without making another agent worse off... even if the result would mean a gain in the total utility of all agents.

Anyways... back to the flames.  Here is a sweet motivational video from the 80's  "Can't stop a flame when it's red hot"
