Thats Right, someone has to start it! Now this is mostly to Bob, but this year everyone should help out with the planning of this trip. Now We need to start with a number here, who would all be interested? Same people as last year I take it? Bob any ideas or changes for this year?
-
Oh you didn't hear...after we left the temperatures were unseasonally high. The lake dried up. No more houseboating. Sorry you had to hear it like this.
-
well what are we waiting for, lets get the buckets and hoses and fill the mo fugger.
-
Bob and I have had a few conversations reguarding this subject. We have been thinking that instead of having two separate trips like this year; that we should have one trip date and rent two boats. Then we would have the whole crew out there at the same time. The more the better I say!
-
Plus then we can play chicken at blistering speeds with houseboats.
-
I like the sounds of that! Laura and I are in.
No guarantees on the skanky lesbians though.
-
But you take such beautiful pornography pictures!
-
I'm in. I think I should plan to have an extra spot for the girl friend I will no doubt have by next summer............... bahahaha, who am I kidding... SINGLE FOR LIFE!
-
I thought the 4th year was the turnaround year for you mike.
-
Okay so I took the liberty of booking us the Legacy 94 for the summer season.

That boat is sweet!!!
-
If we could round up 30 people who were willing to pay about $500 each in value season we could do it. Hypothetically.

And another $500 each for damage deposit and insurance

I think I like the 2 boats idea... if we get 2 Mirage 46's It would be perfect. They are big enough not to be embarrasing but small enough not to attract hordes of randoms.

If my travel plans work well around it, I'm down for sure for this time.
-
Well you should make your other traveling plans around houseboating. Its kind of a big deal around here
-
I want to come but would need dates first.
-
I'm sure you could meet a dyke or two out there if you're looking for dates.
-
Are we going to try for 2 boats? I think we should figure out just who wants to come, and when it would be best for us all to go.
-
I think two boats would be sweet, as far as timing... having that many people try get time off at one time could be a challenge.
I know that Neal, Laura, Jeff, Jess, Derek, Kayley, Steve, Travis and Matt would almost certainly want to go. The rest of the people that were on our boat are also possibilities. I could also see Tom and some other new faces coming this year.
As far as timing, August works best for me. And personally having been houseboating at the start, middle, and end of summer I have to say the middle of summer is the best (more expensive but worth the price in my opinion). I think the end of summer is also better than the start (warmer water, more beach, more people). But that's just me.
-
Brielle will want to come too
-
Seeing as I will actually have money to do something next summer you can pretty much count Amy and I in for this!!!
-
The weather and water were the hottest I have ever had out there last year in June.
-
I did find June quite good last year. However I'm sure August would be just as warm if you can wait that long into the summer without going crazy. Having more beach might be a plus, the water was really high when we went this last time.
-
Guess it's booked and taken care of then. I will remove it from my mind.
-
Booked?
-
I was being a bit sarcastic. There was a surge of interest in the topic and then it died with no conclusion. I'm a dick like that.
-
Yeah yeah, if one of you just bought a houseboating company it would make this all much easier
-
Gimme 10 years... I'll just bring my yacht instead!
-
I would bring mine, but some asshole stole it and gave the pictures to Shad.
-
Time for a revival. For serious this time though.
-
I like drinking in the sun on the top deck of a large floating house boat.
-
It is officially on my to do list tomorrow. That and get a new petro points card which I have been meaning to do for a few years.
-
I hope the Petro Points card is higher on the list. Those things add up.
-
Maybe we can rent the House boat with Petro Points... I have accumlated a fair few.
-
Rent? Let's just buy one. I mean how expensive can it possibly be?
-
Maybe they'll let us lease one.
-
As opposed to rent? Do you think they do that? You're so crazy.
-
I made the phone call. They said we can't get the deal this year. I am getting my person on the inside to call them in the next few days to get this sorted out.
-
I like houseboats.
-
I like boat houses
-
I hate waterways
-
Why do you hate waterways? Do we not get a boat?
-
We do, but we have to paddle it ourselves. And boat is a strong word. Canoe, now that is more apt.
-
That's actually kinda a interesting notion... Made me wonder if can you camp on Neilson beach? You could just setup a big ass camp and ferry people back and forth with a speedboat.
-
Do you guys want to look into renting a house like the Bergmann's/Keirsteads do? I'd be up for that for a sure thing. And there will be a 3 page essay, deeming yourself worthy, in accordance to coming.
-
I think it would be pretty tough to get a cabin at the shuswaps... The one they get I think has a ten person max and is a couple grand a week... and I doubt the owners would rent it out to a rowdy group of twenty-somethings. We would need 2 cabins I think... depending on the size...
-
I agree that it would be hard, they are in large part booked way in advance I believe. And I think a houseboat would be more fun.
-
I think both have its advantages. But I'm sure securing one is tough and a boat is more fun. I still like Shad's Neilson beach camping idea. Hah.
-
I don't think you can actually set up a camp site on Neilson Beach... I remember seeing signs posted or something.
-
Yeah I would assume that is correct. Some of that area is a Provincial or National Park is it not? Not the beach per se, but maybe just off the beach. Or I could be thinking another area of the lake.
I was mostly kidding anyway, with all the knobs on Neilsen beach I'm not sure I could survive camping there for more than one or two nights in a row anyway.
-
Man if we have to pay full price like commoners that will be a shame. Not that I won't do it dammit.
